Catalina Deaf Camp 2017 SDA Deaf Church Down Under Christian Services for the Blind and Hearing Impaired
The 2017 SDA Deaf Camp is to be held 27-30 October at the Catalina Conference Centre, Rathmines, NSW. We commence Friday evening and finish with breakfast on Monday morning. During this time we have planned a variety of activities including fellowship and sharing, worship, and indoor and outdoor activities.

Take a moment to watch our video on the right.

Guest Speaker

Pr Jeff Jordan "I think the church at large needs to see that there are deaf people out there, a whole people group that, for whatever reason, is overlooked. Jesus told us to reach every people group—the Deaf are one of those. We have our own culture and our own language. Who is reaching us?" -Jeff Jordan as quoted in "A Conversation with the Jordans", Adventist Review, 12 November 2014.

Jeff Jordan, a Deaf pastor from the USA, is our special guest speaker at the Deaf camp this year. Pr Jeff was born deaf from an unknown cause, and American Sign Language (ASL) is his first language.

He will be travelling with his wife, Melissa, who will interpret his presentations into spoken English. This will then be professionally interpreted into Auslan.

Pr Jeff has a B.A. in Deaf Studies, and a M.Div degree. He is an ASL instructor and the pastor of the Southern Deaf Fellowship of Seventh-day Adventists. He is also Honourary Associate Coordinator for Deaf Ministry within the office of Special Needs Ministries. In this role he serves as a global consultant, trainer, evangelist, revivalist, and speaker for/with the Deaf.
